Upcycle & Embroider a T-shirt Together

Join Louise Sly/Sly Studio in Auckland for a hands-on, beginner-friendly two-hour workshop where you’ll upcycle and embroider a T-shirt in a fun, relaxed environment. No experience needed, just bring your creativity and leave with new skills and your very own one-of-a-kind wearable artwork. Ages: 10 and up.

What You’ll Learn

• Upcycle basics – how to transform pre-loved clothing into something fresh and exciting.
• Six traditional embroidery stitches taught in a modern, playful way you can apply to any garment.
•  Hands-on practice and guidance from Sly Studio founder Louise Sly, BYO t-shirt, all other materials provided/or BYO if you have something special you'd like to incorporate.

What to Bring:

BYO T-shirt or sweatshirt, we recommend a heavyweight cotton piece (something sturdy that will hold stitches well). Even better if it’s stained, worn, or a little tired — embroidery is a beautiful way to cover marks and give garments a fresh new life.

This is a beginner embroidery workshop in Auckland/no sewing or art experience needed! It’s the perfect way to try something creative and relaxing in a friendly, supportive space, and enjoy a cake and coffee while you do it.
